How lighting works in Halo 3
Game Developer Community Manager David Weller put up information from the various tracks at Gamefest 2006 last Monday. All of them contain good, dense game development specific information which is fascinating to me but probably not to most. What did catch my eye (and by "catch my eye" I mean I saw it mentioned on a certain halo fansite) was in the Graphics track (which is over 400mb btw), there's a Bungie mention, "HDR the Bungie Way" it's called. It's a very nuts and bolts description of why HDR is good and how game developers can (and should) use it to their advantage. Good information if you're technically minded. What you won't find is any Halo 3information in here. Disappointing, yes. But still a good read.
